Your First Class
We’re excited to set you up to perform at your best! Here are some instructions so you can gear up for your first class.
What To Wear & Bring
At AuraCycle: Leggings, shorts, T-shirts and tank tops are recommended cycle wear. Some regulars wear padded cycling shorts, but don’t worry, they’re not a necessity. Proper cycling shoes, however, are definite must! Because we clip into our bikes to provide a safe, stable ride, you’ll need either SPD or Delta-compatible cycling shoes. We have cycling shoes available at our front desk for a $3 rental fee, but if you’re a cycling veteran and want to bring your own, feel free to. We offer complimentary towel service — providing you with a bike towel, shower towel and a cold eucalyptus towel at the end of class.
At AuraYoga + AuraBody: Wear something easy, comfortable and well suited to sweat. Tank tops, shorts and yoga pants are class staples. If you’re short on supplies, feel free to stock up at our retail section. We’ll get you stretching in style. If you’re taking an AuraBody class, don’t forget to wear sneakers! You’re free to bring your own yoga mats and towels, or rent them from our front desk. Mats are $3 and towels are $1.
Please come fifteen minutes early to sign in with our front desk staff. They’ll be more than willing to field any questions you might have about our program and to introduce you to your instructor.
If you’re taking an AuraCycle class and you haven’t clipped into a bike before, please ask your instructor to assist you with setting up your cycle. It’s important so that you’re comfortable and safe during your ride.
Beverages & Snacks
We have water and healthful energy snacks at both of our studios, so don’t worry about being dehydrated or too hungry. We’ve got you set for both pre-workout and recovery.
Our Studio Amenities
At AuraCycle: We have private, individual lockers available with touch-pad locks. We do offer complimentary towel service (. We also have showers available for in our women’s and men’s bathrooms, so you can shower at our studio if you’d like.
At AuraYoga + AuraBody: We have cubbies available to store any items you might bring to the studio, so don’t worry about space. They are co-located in the studio room. We do not have showers available at our Sunset Plaza studio, but we do have bathrooms and common area sinks where you can freshen up.
At AuraCycle: We offer complimentary, 90-minute validated parking and a valet parking service. Our parking facility is located in the structure above the studio. Entry into the lot is on S. Harper Ave. off of 3rd Street.
At AuraYoga & AuraBody: We have plenty of free parking available in the Sunset Plaza parking lot, only steps from our front door. Feel free to come a bit early to enjoy the view before class.
Before starting at any of our programs — AuraCycle, AuraYoga and/or AuraBody — it’s recommended you speak with your doctor to make sure you’re fit for exercise. Our workout programs are rigorous, full-bodied and sometimes cardio-intensive, so check with your physician to make sure you’re up to the task. If you have specific injuries, please consult with our instructors before the beginning of class so that they can give you adjustments and modifications throughout the class, as needed.
Remember, don’t push yourself too hard. Make sure to grab water or take a break if you feel like light-headed or faint. Feel free to ask your instructor for extra help if you need it. And lastly, make sure to have fun!
